Multimedia Advertising Sales Manager

Summary

This position is responsible for Key Accounts by effectively managing a group of Multi Media Account Managers and Account Executives. Retain and grow advertising revenue for DMPâ??s multi-media products in new and existing accounts. Accurately completes all reports and forecasts, and assists reps in development of realistic and achievable gap plans. Maintain and foster strong relationships with customers, regionally and nationally. The Manager will assist in preparing sales presentations directed toward specific accounts and/or classifications. Responsibilities include integrating sales efforts of Major Multi Media Account Managers and Executives to ensure effective, coordinated sales pressure. Reports all significant sales activity to Sr. Sales Director/National, Agency & Key Accounts including monthly forecasts, weekly updates, goal-setting and itinerary plans. Writes period reports on general advertising activity.

Requirements:

Bachelor degree and at least five years related experience and/or equivalent required. Prior sales and supervisory experience is necessary. Supervisory experience should include coaching, evaluating and managing employees performance, making hiring decisions and motivating employees. Specific industry knowledge - broad based knowledge of industry trends and competitive media pertaining to major and regional accounts is required. Thorough knowledge of digital sales and experience in developing multi-media sales plans is required. Must have a strong track record for achieving revenue growth. Excellent communication, customer service and presentation skills are needed. Must be highly motivated, organized, articulate and have the ability to react productively to change.

Multimedia Account Executive

Summary

Responsible for maintaining and increasing share of market in the automotive advertising segment by successfully selling advertising to new and existing accounts within an assigned territory/list.

  • Identify client needs and opportunities in order to provide multimedia sales solutions while at the same time meeting and/or exceeding revenue and strategic product goals.
  • This position involves being aware of clients spending plans with the DMP and competitive media, and developing strong sales presentations and creative marketing ideas for existing and new accounts.
Requirements
  • A Bachelors degree in media/advertising is preferred with a minimum of two years of related outside sales experience or equivalent.
  • Specific industry knowledge of competitive media and automotive trends preferred
  • Must have professional interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Excellent customer service orientation and organizational skills are required.

Careerbuilder Online Account Executive

Summary

This professional with media sales experience in the Detroit Recruitment industry, will be responsible for increasing advertising revenue of new business and existing account base through sales of all Careerbuilder products including job postings, Resume Database, Video Branding, Careerbuilder Institute, etc., and DMP Digital Products.

  • Develop sales plans with manager to increase revenue potential and meet/exceed revenue goals.
  • Seek out and maintain knowledge of the offerings of job boards and of market trends associated with recruitment staffing habits.
  • Utilize market statistics and facts to support all sales efforts as it relates to online and print.
  • Responsible for performing outbound phone calls and face to face sales presentations, reviewing customer contracts on a quarterly basis for fulfillment and upsell opportunities, as well as, performing daily account management duties.

Design Internships

This is an unpaid internship for students currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program.

Signature Media Graphics Intern

Will work closely with editor in chief and designers to learn about desktop publishing; how important the proper photo and clean design are to an effective ad campaign; and the graphic elements and arrangement of those elements that comprise dynamic magazine layouts. Will assist in creation of ads, advertorials, editorial layouts and marketing materials for all Signature Media products, including StyleLine, Senior Living and newspaper products. Assist in preparing photos for layout, and archiving finished files.

Multimedia Design Intern

Will learn about and assist with a variety of special projects involving print and web design, multimedia presentations, digital illustration, still and video photography and new technology research. Will shadow and be instructed by staff as they create / maintain multimedia files, assist with the development of advertising collateral/concept treatments for advertising and investigate new concepts as they pertain to presentations and leave-behind materials. Specific industry software and guidelines will be explored as intern assists and sometimes leads in the designing of collateral, advertisements, digital illustrations and video, logos and animations/motion graphics for interactive presentations and print/electronic media communications. Digital photography projects may also be touched upon on an as-available basis.

REQUIREMENTS for Design Internships

Pursuing degree in graphic design or fine arts. Knowledge of PowerPoint, Quark, Illustrator, Flash, Final Cut and Photo Shop (or similar). Working knowledge of Dreamweaver, After Effects, Multi-Ad Creator and Acrobat Distiller a plus. Mac experience required. Must have ability to produce print and/or web graphics and have a good understanding of basic photography, web and print design process. Online portfolio is required.

Public Relations/ Marketing Intern

This is an unpaid internship for students currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program.

The PR/Marketing Intern will shadow and receive firsthand knowledge of how Marketing department staff promotes goodwill in the community and capitalizes on marketing opportunities for the Detroit Media Partnership, The Detroit News, Detroit Free Press, and Signature Media through events, sponsorships, and other projects.

Will receive mentoring from the Brand Manager as past programs and new opportunities are evaluated and decisions are made as to which ones are most beneficial to pursue. This may include the completion of an analysis of each project that includes revenue, expenses and benefits. Will receive instruction on and participate in details pertaining to an event/project (from concept to execution): Food, facility, decorations, databases, speakers, prizes, awards, volunteers, mailings, collateral materials, promotions ads, registrations, etc. All aspects of sponsorship programs including in-paper promotion, on-site coordination, third party involvement, DMP exposure elements, newsroom possibilities and outside promotion will be explored. This will include learning about and assisting with planning, organizing and coordinating programs and events with community groups and non-profit organizations. Opportunities may exist to coordinate portions of existing marketing projects such as DFP Marathon, Money 101, Spelling Bee, Partnership for Humanity, consumer shows, travel shows, etc., as well as, exhibits at various trade show and community events -- may include displaying product, merchandise giveaways, selling subscriptions, etc. Will learn how the integrity of all brands is maintained.

REQUIREMENTS: Pursuing a Bachelor degree in Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing or Communications. Experience with events, sponsorships, marketing partnerships and/or promotional program is highly preferred. Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills including the ability to interact with all levels of staff and management. Must be highly motivated, organized and able to coordinate multiple tasks within a fast-paced environment.
