2009-01-15WILSON MAUREEN (OBERT)

40, of Pleasant Ridge, Michigan passed away Friday, January 9, 2009 at home. Maureen graduated from Livonia's Franklin High School in 1987, and the College for Creative Studies in 1993, earning a BA in graphic communications; where she later taught graphic design. An award-winning designer, she owned Gotta Have It Graphics, providing design services to clients nationally and later channeling her talents into interior design. A vibrant person with a lust for life, Maureen touched many lives - from her design group to her tennis and golf clubs - and most avidly with her family, spending time boating and skiing in northern Michigan. A keen tennis player and golfer as an adult, Maureen was competitive figure skater in her youth. Her love of travel took her on many adventures in search of good food, wine, and hunting for treasures. Maureen's smile lit up every room. She is survived by her loving husband, David Wilson; her parents Norman and Barbara Obert; sister Gabrielle (Stephen J.) LaMond; stepchildren James (Denise), Drake and Madison; mother-in-law Patricia Wilson; brothers-in-law Scott (Susan), Andy, and Lee (Kathy); nieces and nephews Sarah, Olivia, Noah, Alysse and Evan; many extended family members; countless friends, especially Karen Larson and Bob Mirek; and faithful companion, Indie. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Maureen Obert Wilson Scholarship at the College for Creative Studies, Detroit.
